Courtney Duncan, N5BF, was first licensed as WN5GRZ in 1972 and has been active in many aspects of amateur radio including homebrewing, satellite operation and management, traffic handling, contesting, awards, emergency communications, public service, regulatory and policy matters, advanced operating modes, rag chewing and software defined radios among others. He is a former Vice President for Operations of the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation, AMSAT-NA, and is a member of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Amateur Radio Club, W6VIO. At JPL he works on software for deep space navigation. A Life Member of both ARRL and AMSAT-NA, he resides in La Canada, California with wife Viann, WD5EHM, and children Viannah, KG6GXW, Katherine, KG6HUI, and John, KG6HCO. John Duncan, KG6HCO, was licensed in July 2001 and enters La Canada Junior High School as a seventh grader this fall. In addition to ham radio and bicycling with his dad, his activities include Children's Choir at Pasadena Covenant Church, Shaolin Kempo Karate where he is a Green Belt, hanging out with his friends and, of course, video and computer games.
